Fundamentals

Diversity Factor Calculator

Use individual and measured whole-group maxima from the same set and study period.

01 / Inputs

Individual and group maxima

One load must have the same individual and group maximum, so its diversity factor is 1.

Use the same set of loads and the same study period. Enter the measured coincident peak for the whole group; the tool does not derive it from individual maxima.

Diversity factor = Σ individual maximum demands / measured coincident group maximum

This is distinct from demand factor and interval load factor. No standard allowance, feeder sizing, billing or capacity recommendation is provided.

02 / Result

Diversity factor

Enter same-group measurements

Results will appear here.

Method and boundaries

Diversity factor = sum of individual non-coincident maxima / measured coincident maximum of the whole group.

The tool does not infer the group peak or provide demand allowances, billing calculations or sizing recommendations.

FAQ

What does this calculator compute?

Diversity factor is the sum of individual non-coincident maximum demands divided by the measured coincident maximum of the whole group.

Does it find the group peak for me?

No. You enter both the individual maxima and the measured group maximum. The tool does not infer the group peak.

What does the result not provide?

It does not provide demand allowances, billing calculations, or equipment sizing recommendations.
